Create a Sony Playstation 3 in Photoshop

Step 1:

Let's start out by creating a new document. I used a 600x600 pixels canvas set at 72dpi, and I filled my background with a white color.

Step 2:

Just to be organize create a new layer set(Layer > New > Layer Set) and name it 'Playstation 3'. Now make a new layer and draw a black rectangle, size 248 x 369 px.

Step 3:

Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add an Inner Shadow and Gradient Overlay blending options to your black rectangle layer.

Step 4:

Create a new layer, on the left side of your gradient rectangle draw a white rectangle with an exact size of 73x369 px. Make sure there is one pixel space from the end of the rectangle.

Step 5:

Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add an Inner Shadow and Gradient Overlay blending options to your white rectangle layer.

Step 6:

In a new layer draw another white rectangle, size 52x369 px on the left end of your current design.

Step 7:

Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add a Satin and Gradient Overlay blending options to your white rectangle layer from the last step. Then on your layers palette set the layers blending mode to Darken at 39% opacity.

Step 8:

Now select your Eraser Tool with a large soft brush, 170 px to be exact. Then erase the top and bottom of your white rectangle layer with styles attached.

Step 9:

Create a new layer. Next to your gradient rectangle draw a #F4F4F4 color shade rectangle, size 7x364 px. Then under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add a Drop Shadow and Gradient Overlay blending options.

Step 10:

Create another layer and draw a #353535 color shade rectangle, size 40x363 px.

Step 11:

Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add an Inner Shadow and Gradient Overlay blending options to your #353535 color shade rectangle layer.

Step 12:

In a new layer draw a small right triangle with #636363 color shade right above the light gray rectangle from step nine.

Step 13:

Again create a new layer and draw a black rectangle, size 37x188 px at the same location as shown on the picture guide below. Then under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add a Gradient Overlay blending option.

Step 14:

Now create a new layer and draw a thin, #444643 color shade rectangle at the same location as shown on the picture below. Then under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add a Gradient Overlay blending option.

Step 15:

Select your Horizontal Type Tool and above your screen under the options palette set the font family to Arial, bold, 7 pt, crisp and #B5B0C7 color shade. In a new text layer type 'Sony'. Then under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add a Gradient Overlay blending option.

Step 16:

Now select the Zoom Tool and zoom in at the same location shown below. Create a new layer, grab your pencil tool then draw two lines stacked with one another. First line has a #484848 color shade and the second line under it has a #1A1A1A color shade.

Step 17:

Create a new layer and draw a 2 pixels white line as shown on the picture below. Then under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add a Gradient Overlay blending option and set the layers blending mode to Darken.

Step 18:

In a new layer draw a 1 pixel, #363636 color shade line at right end of your current design. Make sure you leave a four pixels space from the end of the design.

Step 19:

Using your Pen Tool create a curve design on top of the large rectangle. Then add the same curve design at the bottom by flipping it horizontal( Edit > Transform > Flip Horizontal).

Step 20:

Select your Horizontal Type Tool and above your screen under the options palette set the font family to Homoarakhn, regular, 13 pt, crisp and white color. In a new text layer type 'Playstation 3' on the center of your large rectangle. Then under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add a Stroke blending option.

Step 21:

In a new layer draw a black rectangle overlaping the 'playstation 3' text. Then select your Eraser Tool with a large soft brush, 170 px to be exact and erase the top and bottom end of the black rectangle so it has a fade effect.

Step 22:

Set the opacity level of the black rectangle layer from step twnety one to 56%.

Step 23:

Now add the function buttons, first save the icons below and insert them into your canvas. Resize the buttons by going to Edit > Transform > Scale and position them as shown below.

Step 24:

And finally add the playstation logo. Use the same method from the last step for the logo.

Step 25:

Finish it off by adding reflections, first duplicate your 'Playstation 3' layer set. To do this highlight the layer set in your layers pallette and go to Layer > Merge Layer Set. Then turn it upside down through Edit > Transform > Flip Horizontal.
Now place the duplicate Playstation 3 model design layer behind the original 'Playerstation 3' layer set. The layer is titled 'Set 2 copy' on the picture below.

Step 26:

Select your Eraser Tool with a large soft brush, 170 px to be exact. Then erase the bottom half of the duplicate Playstation 3 layer to make a reflection. Thats it, your done!.
