Glassy Shield.
Step 1:
Let's start out by creating a new file. I used a 300x300 pixels canvas set at 72dpi, and I filled my background with a white color. Now select the Horizontal Type Tool and set the font family to Webdings, regular, 200 pt, smooth and #00CCFF color shade. In a new text layer type 'd' which should turn into a shield shape.
Step 2:
Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add an Inner Shadow, Satin, Gradient Overlay and Stroke blending options to your shield shape text layer.
Step 3:
With all that blending option added to your shield shape layer, it should now look like this:
Step 4:
Now change the font size of your Horizontal Type Tool to 180 pt and set the font color to black color shade. In a new text layer type 'd' again to get the shield design, position it on the center of your current shield design.
Step 5:
Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add an Inner Shadow, Inner Glow, Satin, Gradient Overlay and Stroke blending options to your white text layer. Then set the layers blending mode to Lighten.
Step 6:
With all that blending option added to your second black shield layer, it should now look like this:
Step 7:
Duplicate your smaller black shield layer from step four then delete the current layer styles attached.
Step 8:
Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add an Inner Shadow, Outer Glow, Gradient Overlay and Stroke blending options to your second black shield layer.
Results:
Glassy Shield.
